ACCOUNT / ACCOUNT
Create an account and open the user dashboard
Select Get Started Free on this page to open the account creation page. VPNRoll accounts use a username and password—no email required. Choose a username you can remember and set a unique password. Before submitting, check your entries, especially if your password manager may have filled in details for another site. Once your account is created, follow the prompts to open the user dashboard. If you already have an account, select Log In in the navigation instead; there’s no need to create another one.
Use a password manager to save your username, password, and the VPNRoll website address. The marketing site explains the service; the user dashboard is where you manage plans, subscriptions, client downloads, and support tickets. Most of the steps that follow take place in the dashboard. When you first open it, find the Account Overview, Plans, and Download Client sections, and make sure you know how to return to the overview before choosing a plan.
Being able to log in doesn’t mean your subscription is ready to use. If the overview doesn’t show an active plan, complete the next step first. Don’t keep adding empty configurations, and never enter your account password in a client’s subscription URL field. Clients generally need the subscription provided by the dashboard, not your website login details.
Open the plans section in the user dashboard and compare monthly plans with data packages. Monthly plans suit regular use: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date. Data packages suit variable usage: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. They’re valid until used and never expire. Choose based on how you plan to use the service and how much data you need; there’s no need to pick a larger plan just to use more devices. Simultaneous device connections are unlimited.
On the plans page, check the price, billing method, and data allowance. Follow the dashboard prompts to create an order, then pay with Alipay, WeChat Pay, or USDT. Once the payment page confirms completion, return to the user dashboard to check the order status and plan details in the overview. If the order is still processing, check the original order rather than paying again because the page hasn’t updated. Keep your order details, and contact support through a ticket if needed.
VPNRoll offers a 14-day no-questions-asked refund. See the Terms of Service for details on how to request one. If you upgrade a monthly plan before it ends, the price difference is converted into remaining days. Review the settlement details shown in the dashboard before confirming an upgrade. Once your plan is active, get your subscription from the overview to reduce the chance of importing successfully but having no available routes.
Return to the account overview in the user dashboard and find the subscription section. First, make sure your current plan is active, then review the available import options. A subscription is how a client retrieves route configurations; it isn’t an installer or a website address for a particular route. If the dashboard offers an import option for your client, use it. Otherwise, follow the client’s instructions to copy a compatible subscription link.
Automatic import usually opens the client on your device. If the client is installed, check the app name in the system prompt, allow it to open, then confirm in the client that the configuration was added. If your browser says there’s no app available to open, install the client first or copy the link and add it manually. Don’t keep creating configurations with the same name as you retry; that can make it hard to tell which subscription is in use.
To import manually, paste the complete address into the client’s “Subscription URL” or “Add configuration from link” field, then give it an easy-to-recognize name, such as VPNRoll. The example below illustrates the format only and cannot be used to connect. Get your actual address from your own dashboard. After pasting, remove any spaces at the beginning or end, keep all URL parameters, and don’t paste the address into a search box.
https://example.com/sub?token=YOUR_TOKEN
After adding a subscription, most clients need to download or refresh the configuration. Once the route list appears, you can choose a route and connect. If the list is empty, check your plan status, subscription format, and update result before assuming all routes are unavailable.
Choose the version for your device from the client downloads section in the user dashboard, and read the installation and import instructions on the same page. After logging in, you can get clients for Android, Windows, macOS, and Linux. Get your subscription from the dashboard once your plan is active. iOS has different requirements; see the section below. This guide doesn’t provide direct installer links, helping you avoid files from unknown sources or versions that aren’t right for your device.
Windows: Add your subscription from the subscription or configuration page
Use the VPNRoll Windows client provided in the dashboard, or a configuration-based client that the dashboard instructions say supports your subscription format. After installing and opening the client, find the Subscription, Configuration, or Profiles page. Choose the option to add a link, paste the full subscription URL you copied, save it, and update. For automatic import, check that the configuration appears in the list, then set it as the active configuration.
Open the route selection page, choose a route, and connect. Turn on the system proxy or supported traffic-routing feature provided by the client. If the system requests network permission, first confirm the request comes from the client you’re using, then follow the prompt. After the client shows Connected, continue with the checks below. If a browser works but other apps don’t, check whether those apps follow the system proxy.
macOS: Add your subscription and check how traffic is routed
Choose a client for your Mac from the dashboard. After installing it, open its configuration manager and look for the option to add a subscription or import from a URL. Paste the address, update, and check that route names appear in the configuration before enabling it. If the dashboard offers one-click import, you can open the client from your browser, but still confirm that the configuration was saved and enabled in the client. A browser pop-up alone doesn’t confirm that the import is complete.
When you connect, macOS may ask you to allow a network extension, VPN configuration, or changes to network settings, depending on how the client routes traffic. Check the app source and system prompt before proceeding. Without the required permissions, the client may show a route as selected even though app traffic isn’t going through the connection. Keep your original network settings, and avoid changing your proxy, DNS, and routes all at once without recording the changes. Start by following the client instructions to connect.
Android: Import a configuration and allow the VPN connection
Log in to the dashboard to get and install the Android client. Open it, go to subscription or configuration management, add the link copied from the dashboard, then save and update. If automatic import from the dashboard opens the client correctly, you can use it; otherwise, return to the client and add the link manually. After import, you should see a route list. Select the VPNRoll configuration, choose a route, and start the connection.
When the system asks to set up a VPN connection, confirm the app name and allow it. The Android status bar indicates that the system has established the connection, but it doesn’t guarantee that every app uses the same route. If the client offers per-app settings, check that the apps you need aren’t excluded. If the connection drops when the screen locks, check the system’s background activity and battery settings for the client. Allow the background activity it needs based on the options available on your device; there’s no need to change every battery-saving setting from the start.
iOS: Get a client and add your subscription using the dashboard instructions
Open the client downloads page in the user dashboard and check the iOS instructions. Get the iOS client from the App Store. The dashboard provides the relevant link only to users with a purchased plan that hasn’t expired. If you see a plan prompt, return to the account overview and check your status. After installing the client, use an automatic import method supported by the dashboard, or go to subscription or configuration management in the client, choose Add from URL, enter your subscription address, and update.
When you connect, iOS will ask to add a VPN configuration. Follow the system prompt to authorize it. Then return to the client, choose a route, and connect before opening the app you want to use. If other VPN configurations are saved on your device, check which one is active while troubleshooting to avoid connecting through the wrong configuration. Installing the client, adding a subscription, and connecting to a route are separate steps; confirm each one before moving on.
VERIFY / VERIFY
Connect to a route and check access
First, confirm the client is using the configuration you just imported. Then choose a route in a region suited to your needs and connect. For general browsing, try a region with a shorter network path. If you need a service specific to a particular region, also check that platform’s regional requirements. Route names and types can help you choose, but they don’t replace testing access. See global server locations for coverage and route options; a region name alone can’t guarantee access to a particular platform.
After connecting, use an exit IP lookup service you trust to check your current exit location. Then open a website or app you actually want to use and try a normal action, such as loading a page, starting a conversation, or playing content. A Connected status only confirms that the connection has reached a particular state. Check separately that your exit location has changed and that the app you need works. Don’t rely only on the client icon’s color or a single speed test.
If your browser works but a particular app doesn’t, check the client’s routing mode, per-app settings, and which traffic is covered by the system proxy. If all apps are affected, first check your local network. Then confirm that the subscription updated successfully, your plan is active, and the required system permissions are allowed. Change one setting at a time and keep track of the original settings. Confirm the result before making another change; this makes problems easier to pinpoint than changing routes and multiple settings at once.
Streaming performance also depends on your account region, content licensing, and how the platform evaluates your connection. Opening the home page doesn’t guarantee that the catalog, playback, or video quality will meet your needs. For region restrictions, route selection, and playback errors, see the streaming guide. This page covers the basic setup; avoid changing complex rules before confirming that the basic connection works.
If you still can’t connect, submit a support ticket through the user dashboard. Include your operating system, client, the step where the problem occurred, the error message, and whether changing routes made a difference. You can attach screenshots with your account details obscured. Don’t include your password or full subscription link. Once your connection is working, keep the configuration and update the subscription in it when needed instead of repeatedly deleting and recreating it.
